Julia is the most gifted teacher. She is so knowledgeable. Her lectures were clear and precise. Her critiques informative and always positive. The assignments really challenged me and I improved so much. I can't wait to sign up for her next course. -MC

Julia just held a six-week class on Creative Photography. She was amazing. Her passion for photography is palpable. What excites her most is to see her students improve. She has the ability to give constructive criticism while taking into account the sensitivities of each student. Julia is a great find for The Cultural Center. -JC

I recently finished Julia Cumes' six-week photography class -Creative Explorations and wanted to submit my comments on the class. Last year I took Julia's introductory photography course at the same time of year and like last year, I found her class educational, inspiring, and really fun. I always looked forward to my Tuesday evening class and to my new assignment. The class structure in which we review each others work and not only hear Julia's constructive comments but are able to interject as well, makes for an engaging learning environment. Julia has a natural ability to raise up people and to inspire and to find the golden nuggets of goodness and talent in a person and in their work. I look forward to taking more of Julia's classes and also other Cultural Center offerings.

Thank you for listening and for the work you do at the Cultural Center so that we have these opportunities. -EH

I chose to take the class because I greatly admire her work and her mission, recognizing that it is rare for an artist to also be a good teacher. However, she is in fact an excellent teacher who truly seems to enjoy sharing her skills with amateurs in a humble and supportive way. The class was a joy and I look forward to the opportunity to take another class with her. -PP
