Description

One of New England’s most beloved singer-songwriters, Les Sampou returns to the Cultural Center for an evening of popular music with her trio “The Dirty Martinis." A chameleon-like songwriter and vocalist of many styles, her original songs from her seven albums (Rounder Records) range from Blues to Rock to Folk, many of which have been featured in sound tracks for film and TV. Sampou's latest project showcases her three and a half octave range and fun, engaging stage presence on compositions from the American Songbook by such composers as Gershwin, Cole Porter, Duke Ellington whose songs were made famous by such greats as Peggy Lee, Billie Holiday, and Diana Krall. The Dirty Martini Trio features Les on vocals and percussion, Ed Grenga on vocals and keys and Dave Zox on stand-up bass. This all-star ensemble is not to miss. You’re in store for a truly inspiring night of music.
