Description

Get ready to bring your energy to the fundamentals of hip hop dance. This beginner friendly class will begin with a warm up learning basic moves and hip hop dance vocabulary, then transition to across the floor combinations, and choreography. Dance movement is mixed with hip hop, old school hip hop, and West African dance. It is a fun way to get in shape and learn some new moves for the dance floor! Students are encouraged to feel the music while having a good time and feeling good about themselves. 

This class meets in the Owl Hall on the main level of the Education Wing.

MATERIALS
Comfortable clothing and sneakers should be worn, and you will need a water bottle for this class.

 

VICTORIA ARIEL
Victoria, born and raised on Cape Cod began dancing at the age of three studying ballet, tap, and jazz. She went on to study Hip Hop & West African dance and has also explored her studies in other styles including Egyptian & Middle Eastern Belly Dance. For fifteen years Victoria performed with Tara Murphy & Cape Cod African Dance & Drum. Currently, she is an understudy to movement coach Carl Alleyne, founder of Boston Mobile Dance Studio & the Beantown Lockers as well as Junior Cius, hip hop performer & choreographer from Boston. 

Victoria’s love & passion for dance inspired her to create her own business Dance Therapy 508 & Entertainment. Dance Therapy 508 & Entertainment is a company which hosts themed dance parties for all occasions for children & adults, offering a variety of services to fulfill your party needs in one stop.
