Tai Chi for Health-Sun Style/Part Two, The Extension Movements

This class will be a continuation of new movements added to the original Core Movements, further extending the practice of Sun Style Tai Chi. These movements are called the Extension Movements. Students should be comfortable with the Core Movements from Part One before taking this class. By the end of the six weeks, students will have a full practice and be well on their way to enjoying the many health benefits of practicing Tai Chi. Instructor Holly Heaslip is certified in this program developed by Dr. Paul Lam. Please wear comfortable clothing, appropriate foot wear and bring a water bottle. If you have any concerns about whether this program is appropriate for you please check with your doctor before participating. 

 

 

WE ARE COMMITTED TO MAKING YOUR CLASS SAFE
The safety of our students, teachers, patrons, volunteers, and staff is our highest priority. A number of adjustments have been put in place to keep everyone safe for in-person classes at the Cultural Center. We are disinfecting public spaces frequently and have installed hand sanitizer stations throughout the building. To ensure the safety of those around you, please wear a mask, practice social distancing, and in other ways follow CDC guidelines while at the Cultural Center. Thank you!

ONLINE WITH ZOOM
You will need to be sure the Zoom app is installed on your device. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing a secure link to join the class.

You will be able to login 15 minutes before the class start time. We recommend logging in before the class starts to make sure you are settled in and ready to go when the class is set to begin.

If you are new to Zoom, please note that we will not be able to help with the app. It is strongly recommended that you navigate Zoom on your own before the class starts to get to know the mute and video settings. Try it out by talking with a friend or family member who has the Zoom app. The Cultural Center uses Zoom to conduct online classes, and I understand that the Zoom meeting will be recorded. By participating in the class, I consent to be recorded and place no restrictions on the distribution of the recording.

MATERIALS
Wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. Very thin, flexible soled shoes are best, or socks with non-slip bottoms should be worn. If you have any concerns, please check with your doctor before participating.

 

HOLLY HEASLIP
Holly Heaslip currently holds multiple certifications in teaching Tai Chi. “Tai Chi for Healthy Aging” from Brookline Tai Chi in Boston which was implemented through the Tufts Health Plan Foundation, “Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance” from the Oregon Research Institute, "Tai Chi for Arthritis and Falls Prevention", and “Tai Chi for Energy” from the Tai Chi for Health Institute. She has been teaching in facilities throughout the Cape for several years.
