Summary
Description
All are invited to experience “Social Dissonance,” Mixed Media Works by Filipe Miguel, presented in the Education Wing from March 24-April 23. There is no admission fee.
The “Social Dissonance” Exhibition is a collection of “paintings and sculptures that reflect some of the turbulence found in a growing feeling of disconnectedness even though we live in the age of connectedness. Social media has become our own personal echo chamber of self-absorption.” Filipe is from Rochester, MA, and frequently shows at art centers and galleries throughout New England. His work is a mixture of expressive drawings, paintings and sculptures with a strong narrative component. He has shown multi-media art installations at the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton, The Wallace Anderson Gallery at Bridgewater State University and Location 1 Space in NYC. His work has been selected for numerous National Juried Exhibitions. He currently teaches Fine Arts at Barnstable High School.
Visitors are also invited to experience “Into the Woods,” a national juried exhibition of artwork that showcases the woods own personality, in all four main galleries, March 31- April 24.
All are welcome, but CDC protocols including social distancing and mask usage will be observed. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 5pm.
